Made In Steuben

What is the Made in Steuben Expo?

The Made in Steuben Expo is an event hosted by the Steuben County Economic Development Corporation that gives students the opportunity to explore local career opportunities. Every year, local employers are invited to collaborate with young talent and showcase the diverse industries in Steuben County. Students participate in fun activities which simulate a variety of industries in Steuben County. The event occurs during the beginning of October, so don't miss out!  The Made in Steuben Expo could be the first step to your future career!

Why is Made in Steuben Important?

The 2023 strategic plan was created to guide the goals and vision of the organization. The Made in Steuben Expo upholds the five pillars of economic development emphasized by the strategic plan. Building and retaining talent is a key function of economic development. Many students are unaware of the opportunities in their community and the Made in Steuben Expo aims to change that. Year after year, students are introduced to businesses they had previously been unaware of. Not only does the event benefit students, but it also can serve as a networking opportunity and boost brand awareness for employers.

Attendance

Angola, Fremont, and Hamilton high school students have the opportunity to attend the Made in Steuben event during the day. Students are transported to the event to participate in a number of activities for 1-2 hours. Students can participate in simulations, network with local employers, and win prizes! Whether you're hitting a bullseye or welding, the event is sure to teach you something new. Employers have the opportunity to attend the event as well. Employers are invited to show off their business and demonstrate the day-to-day activities associated with the industry.
