With a career spanning over 16 years across various sectors including association management, economic development, and nonprofit organizations, Mr. Lee has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive impactful change and foster growth.
As the Executive Director of the Steuben County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) since 2016, Mr. Lee has been at the forefront of steering economic progress within the region. Under his guidance, Steuben County has maintained its position among the "Top 100 Metropolitan Communities" for 17 consecutive years, a testament to his strategic planning prowess and commitment to excellence. His efforts have facilitated over 111 projects, attracting nearly $500 million in investments, resulting in the creation of over 1,300 jobs and a significant boost to the local economy.
Mr. Lee's leadership extends beyond his professional roles, as evidenced by his extensive involvement in various boards and committees aimed at driving regional development and community enhancement. His tenure as President/CEO of the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce saw groundbreaking initiatives such as the implementation of a total inclusion model for chamber directories, setting new standards for inclusivity and accessibility within the industry.
Awards and accolades punctuate Mr. Lee's career journey, underscoring his remarkable contributions and industry recognition. Notably, he was honored with the Emerging Leader of the Year Under 40 award by the Angola Area Chamber, the Forty Under 40 award by the Greater Fort Wayne market, and recognition as one of the Top 50 Economic Developers in the USA by Consultant Connect. Mr. Lee's educational background further complements his professional achievements, with a Master of Business Administration from Defiance College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Human Resources from Toledo University. Additionally, he has pursued continuous learning through courses and certifications in economic development, entrepreneurship, marketing, and fundraising, further enhancing his expertise and skill set.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Lee's commitment to service and volunteerism is commendable. Mr. Lee been married to his wife (Kristen) for over 20 years and they have four children; two daughters, Addison and Madelyn and two sons, Jackson and Henry.
